משיב הרוח ומוריד הגשם
We pray for rain on Shmini Atzeret and we only begin saying מישיב הרוח on the 7th of Cheshvan. This allowed enough time for all the עולים לרגל to get home safely. It took into account the people who lived the furthest from Yerushalayim. I love that! Living in small quarters in a bunk setting

Planting new date trees in time for shmitta
This week on Shluchot we all went to the date orchard to plant a new section of Deri trees which are fantastic for Lulavim. The pressure is on because this coming year is Shmitta and all the planting has to be finished by Rosh Hashana. I am thinking of getting our campers in on this….Camp

It is the first Shavuot without Yitzchak Dishon z”l.. Every flower, every sheath is in the place where he decided it would

The greatest

KAYITZ BAKIBBUTZ staff and campers are everywhere!!
Kayitz Bakibbutz is all about family. I love the chance meetings of our campers and staff. I am so proud of the people that they have become. In Israeli society the army is part of our life. So many times I have been told of the excitement of seeing a familiar face in this framework.

Purim katan-purim sheni
In many Jewish communities throughout the world Purim Sheni (or PURIM KATAN) was celebrated on the day that particular community was rescued from destruction or some kind of threat. Here on Shluchot because our gan was in “bidud” on the actual day of Purim, we were not able to celebrate properly. Kayitz BaKibbutz Kabota, and
